Are you looking for somewhere different to take the kids this summer and fall? Try the Lil Lehigh Trout Nursery. We have been going here since little man was, well…. little:)
It’s right of of Cedar Crest Blvd for you locals and for those of you coming in to the Lehigh Valley, it’s just a few minutes off of I78.
Kids can learn about trout and their importance in the ecosystem. You can even get food to feed the trout (for a fee). It’s a great greenspace and I recommend bringing a picnic lunch and blanket. There is a large grassy area surrounding the nursery and the kids can play and even watch local fishermen in the Lil Lehigh.
You can watch the fish swim by you in these tanks!
Walking trails let you get from place to place.
How cool is that?
When the hatch house is open, you can buy some fish food and let the kiddos feed the fish! Follow the signs like this and read to the kids (or have them read to you) to learn more about trout!
We were lucky enough to spot this local fly fisherman trying to catch some fish in the river!
