Free or Cheap and Fun things to Do in the Lehigh Valley This Winter

Free and Cheap Winter Activities in the LV Featured

The truth is, heading out every weekend to keep the kids busy in the winter gets pricey. A day of skiing or snowtubing can be over a hundred dollars for a family of four. Kids fun centers can be a budget buster. If you want to get out of the house this winter without busting your budget, here are some free or cheap ideas.

1. Check out a storytime at your local library or bookstore. Barnes and Noble have a few each week as well as most of the local libraries.

2. Go to an Indoor Farmers Market {or if you are really adventurous, go to an outdoor one:)

Allentown Farmers Market – Thursday-Saturdays (indoor)

Emmaus Farmers Market – Winter hours are the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month        (outdoor)

3. Allentown Art Museum has Free Admission on Sundays from 12-4

4. Liberty Bell Museum has free admission for kids 4 and under or members.  Adults pay $2 and Kids 5-17 pay $1, so very cheap!

5. Road Trip to any of the locations on the Bank of America Museums on Us list on the first weekend of each month (if you are a BOA account holder). There are some in Philly and NYC

6. Check out any of the Artsquest Free Events HERE. There are some kids and some adult events

7. Head out to any of the Moravian Book Stores Events… they have readings, discussions, and storytimes

I’ll be adding more ideas as I hear of them:) If you have any other free events or things to do in the Lehigh Valley, leave it on my Facebook Page, be sure to like me while you are there!

** As of the time of this article, this is the most recent information I have… As always, check it out first to make sure these venues are still offering these services/events for free:)
