Hi, I’m Jen and I’m addicted to Pinterest….

Source: tinywhitedaisies.tumblr.com via Megan on Pinterest Ok, so that was a little dramatic. I have been getting a lot of great frugal tips, craft ideas, recipes, blogging tips and more, but I have also been sucking up a lot of little mans naptime (when I really should be working) by pinning and daydreaming of all those crafts I could be making. The problem is, I have no time to make those crafts and recipes because my precious free time has been sucked away from pinning them! It’s a vicious cycle…. Has anyone else had the same problem? Do you find yourself killing time on Pinterest when you should be doing housework, work, etc.? Haven’t started pinning yet? Leave me a comment below and I will send you an invite! My New Obsession – Pinterest
| September 13, 2011 | Posted by admin under Misc. Freebies, Pinterest Love |
Have you guys heard of Pinterest yet? It’s a new social site where you can bookmark (pin) the things you love! I have been looking for a place to keep my bookmarks online and have them shared with my readers. I see so many things on a daily basis that I want to try later or share with you, but I can’t blog about all of them, so I had them just sitting in my favorites folder when the unspeakable happened. My computer crashed and I lost all of them! I was devastated. Then a blogger friend of mine told me about Pinterest. All my problems were solved! How Pinterest Works Pinterest is a FREE site. You have “boards” where you can organize your information (you “pin” images from your favorite sites on the board). You can name the boards whatever you like. Some of the boards I have are My Style, Favorite Recipes, Favorite Lehigh Valley Blogs, My Wish List, My Favorite Craft Blogs, Fall Crafts, For the Home, and about 10 more! People can follow all your boards or just one or two and you can follow as many boards as you like. They can also take the pictures… more

How Pinterest Works
Pinterest is a FREE site. They can also take the pictures that you have pinned on your boards and repin them on their own board. They can then add their own notes to that pin so their followers can see their thoughts. When you log on, you can see what everyone that you are following has pinned. This is fun because I go through and repin things that are interesting to me. I have learned so many new things since I have joined pinterest like how to make a Chai Latte drink mix, how to make Smoretini’s, and some really cool crafts that I can’t wait to try!
Why I love Pinterest
1. It’s a place where I can organize where to find all my favorites and make them visually appealing. When I used my old favorites list, it didn’t have pictures so many times I forgot why I put it in my favorites to begin with.
2. You can make a note about each “pin” so you know exactly why you pinned it to go back to
3. I can share my favorites with my friends and readers online. They will always be there even if my computer won’t be
4. You can get great ideas or learn about things you didn’t know about by following someone elses boards.
5. You can really get a great idea of what the person is like with their pins. I started a board called “My Style” so people can get an idea of things I really love.
How it adds Value to the blog?
1. All of the things that I think “OMG” my readers would love this – I pin! I could never get all the cool things I see in blog post form
2. You have access to my boards – Frugal Recipes, DIY Blogs, Favorite Lehigh Valley Blogs, Craft Ideas, Blogging Tips, and more and all the cool stuff I found
3. You can get to really know me, this crazy lady who loves a great deal:)
How do you sign up?
It’s free but currently it’s by invitation only. I don’t think that there is a limit to the amount of people that I can refer, so if you would like an invitation, leave your email in the comments and I will send you one. Please note, I am not an affiliate and do not recieve anything from Pinterest. I just really like the site and want you to enjoy it as well. It’s really addicting!
