Ready for the Target Holiday Clearance??? Come up with Your Game Plan Now!

I admit. I am usually one of those people that are at Target, first in the door, the day after Christmas. Usually everything is at 50% off. I will pick up lights and some other things – like the novelty gifts that I feel won’t make the 75% off cut. Usually there are always boxed cards, candy and wrapping paper left for the next cut a week or so later. Do I sound crazy? No, just a woman on a mission with a plan. In the past few years, I have never paid full price for holiday cards, wrapping paper, ornaments, etc. What do I stock up on? Candy (that doesn’t scream holiday) Baby’s First Ornaments and Our First Christmas Ornaments (We always have someone getting married or procreating – so these are always great gifts) Wrapping Paper Lights (or obnoxious lawn decorations) Boxes, Bows, Ribbon Scotch Tape *** Here’s a tip – they usually have holiday tape and they clearance it because of the packaging – same stuff I use all year round Office Supplies – Last year I got Sharpie markers for pennies because they were packaged in holiday containers Toters/Storage Containers - Usually the Red/Green toters go on clearance… more

Holiday Gift Guide: Ideas for Kiddos – Cuddle Barns Story Time Teddie & Giveaway!!!

This is the Storytime Teddie we recieved from Cuddle Barn and MomSelect. See how he works below in little mans video debut… My Bloggie Camcorder is MIA at the moment so I had to use my phone:) He was just enthralled with Storytime Teddie…. The Storytime Teddie is by far one of the cutest toys I have had the honor of reviewing. My little man was enthralled with it and kept wanting me to have the bear tell the story over and over again. It is a soft cuddly bear that reads, Twas the night before Christmas. It’s lips move and it seems like the bear is really speaking to your child. The first time he saw it, little man proceeded to tell the bear about his day – seeing the woo-woo’s (fire trucks) and some other things. He thought the bear was really having a conversation with him (so cute!) This is a truly special gift to give to a little one and one that they can keep and cherish and enjoy around the holidays! The folks at Cuddle Barn gave me a gift code to use for a discount on your very own Storytime Teddie. Use code BSM2011 to save 15%… more

Picking the Right Holiday Cards

It’s that time again. Picking out Holiday cards to send out. How many of you get custom holiday cards made? I have a few I made from a review I did a few months back, but I have been surfing around and found Minted where they had these really cute cards. They were a little different from what I’ve been seeing around, so I think I may be ordering a few of the ones below to give to the family (I have a small obsession with stationary)…   So how do you send out your holiday greetings to friends and family? Do you send a holiday card via email, mail, or hand deliver? I always love to get holiday cards and love when people send family newsletters or updates so we can keep up on what is going on with the family and friends we don’t get to see all the time. I saw this at Pottery Barn the other day, too… it’s a Christmas tree card holder – so cute!   I usually tape mine up on the doorway like we did at my grandparents house growing up but I would love to display them on this!   more

9 days left…. What do you have left to do???

I have to say, despite all of the craziness and medical issues this year, I did do pretty well with my Christmas planning. The only thing I haven’t gotten to yet is the tree. It’s not that I am procrastinating, but when you have a small living room and a curious almost 2 year old that’s a climber, you put it off until the last minute so that you aren’t picking it up every day. I still have to make Christmas cookies which I am going to start today at Little Man’s naptime. It won’t be the big production that we did when I was a kid with my gram, but it will get enough to give to friends and family. I’m sending out the cards on Monday (most of our list is within a 2-3 day delivery) so they get them fresh right before the holiday… The meal is planned and gifts are bought with the exception of a couple. Not so bad. I spent many years of shopping on Christmas Eve instead of relaxing at home. This year will be different (hopefully – unless I forgot someone!) What does your holiday planning look like??? Do you have it all done or did… more
