Moms Night Out at the Lehigh Valley Mall Recap

Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMug

The Moms Night Out at the Mall was a big success… I stopped in for a few minutes to check it out and I wish I could have taken part in all the festivities. I left with a goody bag filled with some coupons and samples and a cup full of diet coke. You can read more about Moms Night Out HERE

The event was seperated into two venues. In the Mall Events Court there was 300 shopping bags with mall coupons/samples like Ten Thousand Villages, Master Cuts, Bath & Body Works, and Cesy’s Cupcakery. In the Elevator Court there was hair and makeup, you could take your picture in front of the Style photo wall, LV Little Ones had a booth set up with resources, and Blood Pressure Screenings provided by Patient First.

Moms Night Out 2012 – Visit the Lehigh Valley Mall for a Free Event for Moms!

I soooo wish I didn’t have plans tomorrow night because after the two weeks I have had, I could use a night out (and some pampering)! All you mommas in the Lehigh Valley head on over to Lehigh Valley Mall from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for Moms Night Out.

At Lehigh Valley Mall, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an evening filled with pampering refreshments, entertainment, fashion and beauty services, all focused on rewarding Moms. A recent survey of 1,312 respondents conducted by BSM Media indicated the majority of mothers (58 percent) would like to spend a night out with a group of friends.

Simon has teamed up with several prestigious brands and organizations including Diet Coke, Dove Body Wash, Little Black Dress Vodka, StriVectin, VISIT FLORIDA, The State Theatre, and WLEV to celebrate Moms and their many contributions to the world. The fun starts at 5:00 pm and goes until 8:00 pmAll event activities are free and open to moms of all ages. Plus, moms have the chance to receive VIP treatment with an invitation-only Mom’s Nite Out dinner at Bravo! Cucina Italiana and special VIP goodie bags. Moms should listen to WLEV at 7:40am with Scott & Cindy in the Morning for the chance to win.

These events, thanks to an alliance with Little Black Dress Vodka, are helping raise awareness for Dress for Success, an international not-for-profit organization offering services designed to help underprivileged women find jobs and remain employed.

I hope you all have a great time:) Enjoy!

It’s Beginning to look a lot like Christmas…. and Reasons why you should support your Volunteer Fire Department

Our household is beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Little Man even got a few early presents from his favorite people:) Last Saturday, one of our Volunteer Fire Departments in our township had a Santa Run. In case you ever wonder what exactly your volunteer fire department does, it is so much more than responding in the middle of the night when the rest of the world is sleeping or running out the door on Christmas Day to fight a fire. They also spend their time doing nice things like this for the community. We dropped off a wrapped present and then around 8 p.m. last Saturday, Santa came on a Fire truck to deliver a present to little man. Just the look on his face was priceless. He was stuttering, he was so excited. It really made his Christmas and ours too.

So thank you to those firefighters and volunteers who spend 8 hours delivering presents to kiddos on a cold Saturday (when they could have been spending the time with their friends and families) and please remember your local firefighters when you see their donation drives and also remember to say a special prayer for them too because it takes special people to do what they do (and not get paid for it).

Shop Local and Get $25 from American Express – Small Business Saturday!!!

It’s that time again. The malls get crowded, people get cranky, we search at the Mega stores for Christmas presents all while there are local shops that are struggling in this tough economy.

American Express is once again giving a $25 Statement credit to American Express Holders who spend $25 or more at Small Businesses on Saturday, November 26th. You must register your American Express card HERE. You can see the local businesses on that page as well as get more information on the program. The list includes local restaurants like Brewworks, Grille 3501 and more… This would be a great way to score some free xmas gifts or a date night while supporting local small businesses!

If everyone in the Lehigh Valley (all 820,000 of us according to the US census 2010) spent just $20 at local businesses this holiday season, that would mean we would pump over 16 million dollars into the Lehigh Valleys small businesses – money that would STAY in the Lehigh Valley!

I plan on participating again this year. It’s a great freebie that does good for the community as well:)

Kids Ski Free This Winter – 4th and 5th Grade Snowpass Program

I am so jealous of this program – I wish they had it for adults! As a life long skier (who has taken a small hiatus due to back issues), I really think that skiing is an amazing way to get kids outdoors exercising and away from the TV and computers. The earlier that kids start skiing, the easier it is to learn. Just ask hubs who tried to learn to ski just shy of thirty. It was entertaining for us to watch, but for him, not so much. Skiing is really one of the few life long sports and one that the whole family can enjoy.

If you have kids that are in 4th and 5th Grade, you can apply for the Snowpass program. Application and Information is HERE. Basically, you pay a small administrative fee and recieve a booklet with 1 Learn to Ski/Board Voucher and three childs day lift ticket passes for each of the 22 participating resorts. The requirement is that the child must be accompanied by a paying adult. You can check out the FAQ’s HERE. Bear Creek, Blue Mountain, Alpine Mountain, Shawnee Mountain, Big Boulder, Jack Frost, and Camelback are all resorts that are within an hour from the Lehigh Valley and participate in the program.

I haven’t participated in the program, I just came across this information last season and wanted to share. Has anyone participated in this program in the past? Please leave us a comment to let us know how it worked for your family!

P.S. For you mommas who have little ones that are too little for skiing, Bear Creek has childcare! You can have them babysit by the hour so you don’t have to miss out on hitting the slopes!
