Ways to Make Extra Money: Mystery Shopping

This is one of the ways to make money that I see the most scams. I researched carefully when I was looking to mystery shop. I thought it would be a great opportunity to get out of the house and make extra cash while doing it. I found two companies that I like to work with. They are:

NEVER PAY FOR MYSTERY SHOPPING! You may have to buy something small which you can return later or get reimbursed for but you should never pay to get leads for mystery shopping.

Money Saving Mom published an article HERE from one of her readers experience with mystery shops. It lists a couple more companies, so you may want to check them out.

I have done a few for both companies and haven’t had any issues. Their shops vary. Some will require you to call a company, some will have you buy something small, some will reimburse you for that plus your pay, some will allow you to return the purchase. In December, I did 4 shops for about $45 total. Two of which were on the phone, so it just required me to call and ask information, so in total, I spent less than an hour. I made sure two of the shops were in the same area, so I did them back to back.

My Thoughts About Mystery Shopping

This isn’t a way to make a living, but is great for extra cash if you qualify for surveys. Make sure that you check your email frequently because the jobs can fill up quick. Also, make sure that you are very careful reading the requirements. You could risk not being paid if you don’t do it correctly. Make sure you take time to write truthful and thoughtful responses. Always use complete sentences. I have gotten more jobs because I have a great rating. All in all, if you find a reputable company mystery shopping can be fun:)
